The session would broadly cover:
–Changes in the US admissions landscape under the new administration and following covid
–Trends in international student applications, acceptance rates, and/or fields of study
–What to focus on when selecting and applying to US universities
–Visa categories for international students, and the challenges with the F-1 OPT and H-1B
–Benefits of the EB-5 visa for college bound students and graduates, including how residency impacts internship and career opportunities

SHERMAN BALDWIN
Chief Executive Officer, LCR Capital Partners

Sherman Baldwin is the Chief Executive Officer of LCR Capital Partners. Prior to joining LCR Capital Partners, Sherman was a Managing Director at Accenture, serving as the Global Client Executive and P&L owner for one of the firm’s largest and most strategic clients. He was responsible for all go to market and traditional client service activities across the client enterprise. Sherman led Accenture’s efforts to transform one of the world’s largest conglomerates into a leading “digital industrial” company. Previously, he led the Management Consulting practice for CMT North America’s Atlantic Region, and prior to that he was the Global Managing Director for the Aerospace & Defense business.

Before Accenture, Sherman was the Vice President of Strategy & Development for Pratt & Whitney, the aircraft engine division of United Technologies Corporation. He has also worked as a Vice President and Managing Director focused on the aerospace & defense and information technology portfolio companies of J.F. Lehman & Company, a private equity partnership. He started his career at McKinsey & Company where he was an Engagement Manager developing growth strategies in the aerospace & defense, computer and telecommunications industries.

From 1987 to 1995, Sherman served in the US Navy as a carrier pilot, a strategic planner for the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Navy. He received a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University, an M.A. in Telecommunications from George Washington University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.  Sherman is also a Lecturer on Innovation & Leadership at Yale. 


ADRIANNE OWINGS 

Admissions Counselor, H&C Education

Adrianne graduated from Yale University in 2020 with a B.A. in Theatre & Performance Studies. Originally hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas, her own college applications earned her admission to four Ivy League schools in her senior year of high school. She uses her experience working in the Yale Undergraduate Admissions Office as an Ambassador and Tour Guide and now as a Yale Alumni Interviewer to help students craft applications that stand out from the crowd.

She began her career in educational consulting, specifically in essay work, in her first year at Yale and has since then helped many high school students around the world craft their own successful college application essays. She was former Opinion Editor of The Yale Politic and Director of the Leading Ladies Gala by the Women’s Leadership Initiative at Yale. She has also been involved in the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up campaign for many years at the national level. In addition to her educational consultant work, she studied classical acting for several years and works as a TV & Film actress, writer, and producer in Los Angeles. Adrianne is passionate about using her experience in multiple disciplines to help students achieve their personal and academic goals and succeeding in the college admissions process. 

A brief about H&C Education: H&C Education is a boutique education consulting firm with offices in Boston, LA, and Singapore. The firm focus is on mindful leadership development and tailored applications support to help high-school students get into elite colleges in the US, UK and globally. The team has 35 years of combined experience, between the Yale PhD graduates who founded the company and their team of counselors, who are all Ivy League alumni, including some former admissions officers at Ivy league universities. 98% of their students got acceptance from one of their top 3 universities choices, a few being Harvard, Stanford, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Princeton, Yale, USC, Georgia Tech.

NIKI JAISWAL 
Senior Director APAC, LCR Capital Partners

Based in Singapore, Niki leads the firm’s expansion into new markets across APAC. She is also responsible for the firm’s global channel partner engagement and fostering relationships with existing LCR clients and prospects. Niki is actively involved with the firm’s marketing team to help launch new business lines and has authored many of LCR’s thought leadership content pieces.

Prior to joining LCR, Niki worked as an independent consultant in Greece, helping entrepreneurs in both the luxury yachting and technology spaces to grow their businesses internationally. Before this, Niki worked for the Spanish utility Gas Natural Fenosa for 7 years, where she was in charge of sales and business development across Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and Latin America. She started out based in the company’s headquarters in Madrid, Spain, before moving to Singapore in 2015 to establish an office for the company, which was their first commercial subsidiary for LNG outside of Spain.

Niki started her career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as a portfolio manager and compliance specialist for foreign central banks. She received her B.A. from The George Washington University and a bilingual MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain
